10/10/09 - Brooks 1 - Middlesex 0 - Dads Game Review

After the game today Coach Dusty stood beside me as we watched the conclusion of the varsity football game.  "Talk about robbery at Middlesex, we stole one today but I guess I'll take it." Dusty summed it up right.  Very defensive game at both ends.  Not a lot of offense in either direction, but Middlesex did have an edge there.  Glen made a number of nice plays in goal.  Punching more than a few long crosses/shots into his box out of harm's way.  As usual Glen was hit multiple times by the opposition.  It looked like this one would end with a disappointing 0-0 tie until Emerson drove a bullet from outside the 18 towards the goal.  The keeper was ready to catch it; a lucky deflection off a Middlesex player, the ball in the Middelesex net!!  A less than satisfying win for the Green.
