10/14/09 - Brooks 3 - St. Sebastian's 1 - Official Game Review

Brooks played their best match of the season and needed it to finally break down a staunch St. Sebastian's defense in the second half. Fluid play and the lack of a finishing touch, as well as outstanding goalkeeping by St. Sebs' Thomas Gregg, marked Brooks' first half. Nick Vozzella finally broke the logjam in the 56th minute on a nice through ball from Jon Stronach. Zach Vieira got on the end of another Stronach pass to deftly strike to the far post six minutes later. The home side threw numbers forward in impressive fashion and were rewarded with a close range finish from Ryan Hayes. Brooks were definitely on their heels as they counterattacked through Stronach to Vozzella with a third finish. All was not settled however, as St. Sebs pushed forward again and earned a penalty. Glen Martin rose to the occasion and saved both the shot and the point blank rebound to preserve the victory.
