10/28/09 - Brooks 3 - Lawrence Academy 0 - Official Game Review

Brooks' Nick Vozzella got in behind the Lawrence defense in the 4th minute and finished cleanly to put the home side on top in near hurricane conditions. Both sides battled to gain control as a biting wind and horizontal rain made elegant play difficult. Brooks retained a territorial advantage into the second half but Matt Tower was superb in the Lawrence goal in thwarting a number of good chances. Finally freshman Zach Vieira made a dashing run down the left flank and was taken down as he came across the box in the 61st minute. Andres Burbank-Crump made no mistake with the ensuing penalty. Vieira then hit a well struck ball inside the far post only four minutes later to complete the scoring. The match was abandoned in the 75th minute as weather conditions worsened. Both teams deserve praise for persevering under difficult circumstances.
