11/11/09 - Brooks 5 - Milton Academy 1 - Dads Game Review

Not much to say about this one.  It was over before I even arrived at the field.  My 1:00 PM meeting was moved to 2:00 PM and ran late.  I flew out right after.  Arriving at the field about 20 minutes in the score was already 3-0.  Of course the parents kidded that Zach had scored three fantastic goals and I missed them all.  The reality of it was captain Nick was having a stellar afternoon having scored the first 2 on clean break-ins on the keeper.  Emerson connected for a goal in his second consecutive game.  The remainder of the half was pretty boring.  Milton was just not a good team.  The second half saw more of the same.  Another break in by Nick gave him the hat trick.  Then Andres blasted, and I do mean blasted, a free kick to the top left corner.  Along the way, in the first half Milton put one over Glen as he may have fallen asleep.  A much needed win for the standings.  A win on Saturday, and a tie in the Thayer vs St. Sebastian's would give Brooks third place and a sure invitation to the New England tournament.  Barring that tie, Brooks would end up fourth and hopefully still get the invite.  A big one for sure on Saturday vs St. Paul!!
